Work on my page is still going on. Will it ever end? Most probably not. There are always lots of ideas floating around in my head. If I only had the time to transform them into reality :-)

As you already might know I am a great fan of distributed version control systems (DVCS), especially Git. Today I came across an article that explains the differences and advantages of DVCS very well:

Vor einigen Tagen hatte ich meine LaSpaziale mit zur Allianz genommen, um meinen Kollegen zu demonstrieren, dass ein Kaffee auch lecker sein kann. Zugegeben, der dortige Kantinen-Kaffee macht mir die Arbeit aber auch ausgesprochen leicht ;-) Jedenfalls bin ich prompt ein paar Tage später gefragt worden, ob ich nicht als Barista für eine interne Feier tätig werden könnte. Da sage ich natürlich nicht nein. Im Kampf gegen den schlechten Kaffee kann es gar nicht genügend solcher Gelegenheiten geben :-)

Falls also jemand einen Barista für Events im Münchner Raum sucht - einfach melden!

Let's assume you work on an agile software development project and for the next release you have to implement user story A, B and C. A distributed version control system (short DVCS) allows you to create one branch for each user story, so called feature branches.

Currently my site uses a mix of english and german words. For example the top level navigation uses English. But the blog navigation on the other hand uses German which is not so cool for non-German readers. Fortunately django comes to my help with its internationalization (i18n) support. So expect to see a localization update soon :-)
